Rakya was started in the year 2001 with a big social-economic cause in mind: to use technology to make healthcare more efficient. In the process lives will be saved as healthcare becomes more accessible and affordable. It is named after dear Rakesh who succumbed to injuries in a road accident while not getting medical treatment on time.
Over the last decade Rakya has evolved from assisting hospitals in computerization to the current suite of products that manage Electronic Health Records and Hospital Automation. Today Rakya is privately held with sound support from a dedicated group of angel investors.

Chetan Patil
CEO and Founder
Chetan has close to twenty years of industry experience. Before starting Rakya, he was associated with Wipro-India, GE - USA, Xerox - USA, AT&T-USA and AristaSoft-USA. Since 2001, he has been running Rakya ground up from its inception. He has lead operation and strategic direction with full responsibility for bottom and top-lines. Chetan was a keynote speaker in Health 2.0 and International Conference organized by Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB). He has a Bachelors in Computer Science from Gogte Institute of Technology.
Chetan is a marathoner and loves to hit the local parks along with his family.

Anil Sabnis
COO and Co-Founder
With a stint of over 18 years in the USA in voice processing & networking industry, Anil moved back to India in late 1990s and has seen the Indian telecom and Enterprise markets grow. He set up the Indian operations for Dialogic in 1998 and saw the revenue grow 8 fold in 5 years. Later he moved on to work with other MNCs like Intel, Interactive Intelligence, Acqueon, and Nuance Communications helping them grow their business in different technology spaces such as Unified Communications, Contact Centers, Telecom VAS solutions, Speech Technologies etc. Anil is a passionate Technology and Business Savvy executive driving productive software development, product management and technical sales strategies. Recognized excellence in product positioning, sales solutions and market development. He loves to strategize sales that drive revenues through innovative and focused product marketing initiatives. He is a passionate Leader skilled at building top-performing teams focused on impeccable service delivery and accountability for goal achievement. Extensive expertise in client needs analysis with a face-to-face, consultative approach to customer service operations. He holds BE degree in Electronics and Communications from Bangalore University and a Master's degree in Computer Science from Villanova University, USA.
Anil is an avid runner and regular participant in the local runs. He is also a bike buff taking part in the Bullet Riders Club and enjoys going on long rides. His other hobbies include trekking, travelling, cooking, listening to kannada/Hindi music and delving into movies!

Ajay Deshpande
CTO and Co-Founder
Ajay is excited by tough technical challenges. He started his career at Bell Labs, Murray Hill, NJ as a C/C++ programmer working on main memory based database systems. On returning back to India he worked with Persistent Systems Ltd for twelve years in various roles. His experience as Principal Architect includes end to end System Design, helping customers with Technology Roadmaps and System Modelling for performance, scalability, etc. Ajay also provided senior technical leadership in the CTO office Persistent. He has played key roles in building complex Enterprise Software like Messaging Systems, Large Scale Advertising systems and Enterprise Social Software. He has a Masters in Computer Science from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.

Jagadeesh has also been a Board Member and Investor for Ankeena Networks (bought by Juniper Networks), Ocarina Networks (bought by Dell), and Netmagic Solutions. Jagadeesh served as a Group VP and GM of Citrix Systems. Application Networking Group after the company's acquisition of NetScaler for $325 million. He is now a Managing Partner at KAAJ Ventures and his new investments include Denali Systems, Woxi Media, ScaleArc, Rakya, and more. Jagadeesh has also held various management and engineering positions at Novell and 3com. He has a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Bangalore University and a master's degree in electrical engineering from University of Bombay, India.
